Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

We have an opening for a Land survey Party Chief working out of our Buffalo, Rochester or Syracuse, office.


The Survey Party Chief will be responsible for overseeing and conducting surveying projects for various clients. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to lead a team of surveying professionals.


Responsibilities:

-Oversee and conduct surveys to determine precise locations and measurements of various features such as land boundaries, topography, and other physical features.

-Lead and direct a team of surveying professionals in the field to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately.

-Develop and maintain accurate survey records, reports, and sketches to ensure the

completeness and accuracy of data collected.

-Operate survey equipment such as Total Stations, GPS units, and data collectors to collect accurate measurements and data.

-Analyze survey data and prepare maps, charts, and other graphical representations of survey results using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.

Requirements:

-Minimum 2-year degree in surveying or a related field.

-At least 5 years of experience in surveying, including experience as a Party Chief.

-Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.

-Extensive knowledge of surveying equipment, methods, and practices.

-Familiar with Trimble S5/S7 Robotics, Trimble R12i RTK, Trimble R10 base station, Trimble TSC5 data collection, Trimble access, Trimble digital levels, and level run adjustments

-Proficiency in MicroStation and Autodesk.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with clients,

contractors, and other stakeholders.

-Willingness to work in the field in various weather conditions, some overnight travel.

Salary: $60,000-$90,000*
