Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Prudent seeks a skilled Survey Instrument Operator (I/O) to join our team.

The Survey I/O will be responsible for conducting survey projects for various clients. This role requires an elevated level of technical expertise and the ability to work with seasoned part chiefs and surveying team professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys to determine precise locations and measurements of various features such as land boundaries, topography, and other physical features
  • Work with a Party Chief and/or License Land Surveyor(s) to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately
  • Develop and maintain accurate survey records, reports, and sketches to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data collected
  • Operate survey equipment such as Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS/GNSS units, and Trimble Data Collectors to collect accurate measurements and data
  • Assist in analyzing survey data and prepare maps, charts, and other graphical representations of survey results using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-year degree in surveying or a related field
  • At least one year of experience in surveying, including experience as I/O
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively work on a team
  • Willingness to learn surveying equipment, methods, and practices
  • Willingness to learn Trimble S5 robotics, Trimble R12i RTK, Trimble R10 base station, Trimble TSC5 data collection, Trimble access, Trimble digital levels, and level run adjustments
  • Willingness to learn MicroStation and Autodesk
  • Friendly communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Willingness to work in the field in various weather conditions, some overnight travel


Salary Range: $21.65-$28.85/hour*
